Of course it was never meant to excuse kids acting like thugs. Halloween is my second favorite holiday. It’s a holiday that, in modern times, is observed for the sole purpose of having fun. Everybody should be enjoying it and it infuriates me that these little cretins are going around making people dread it. I can more than handily defend myself and I’d love for someone to try picking a fight with me, but what really steams me is when they go around hurting animals.
Alright, as I come down off my rant, no, I never did anything like this and Halloween isn’t meant for it.

Well it’s only one day a year and there is never an excuse for random violence, but I think that shaving cream, toilet paper, and eggs are pretty harmless and aren’t really a big deal. Don’t get me wrong, I would be really pissed off if it happened to me, but I’d get over it.

A bit of noisy but harmless fun on one day is alright. It’s when it gets out of hand, or goes on for more than one day that it’s a problem.
Look at Guy Fawkes Night (Nov 5th) in Britain: Years ago, it would just be one night where people would build bonfires and let off fireworks. Now, the fireworks start getting launched in mid-October, and keep on going well into November. We get pretty sick of it after a while.
